"The Doom of the Holy City: Christ and Caesar," by Lydia Hoyt Farmer, is a story of the sort to which we have adverted, and it is not as bad as the worst of its class that we have seen.

The English is decent and the plot is fairly managed in conformity to what we have learned of the historical events of the period. Title The doom of the Holy City. Contributor Names Farmer, Lydia Hoyt, Created / Published. Genre/Form: Historical fiction Fiction: Additional Physical Format: Print version: Farmer, Lydia Hoyt, Doom of the holy city.

New York, Anson D.F. Randolph. THE DOOM OF THE HOLY CITY. CHRIST AND CAESAR. CHAPTER I. JERUSALEM THE BEAUTIFUL. — THE STRANGE PROPHET. — THE GARDEN OP GETHSEMANE. — THE HOLY OF HOLIES. It was the first of October, in the year of our Lord 64; and of the cities of the East, Jerusalem the Beautiful excelled them all in splendor.

The "Holy City" remains one of my favourite books. As a Geordie it spoke to me. The community described by Meg Henderson was easy to relate to. Whether it was the humour, the community which was frequently dysfunctional but feral in the way we cared each for our own against all outsiders.

In Clydebank it was Hitler's onslaught/5(22). The Holy City book. Read 5 reviews from the world's largest community for readers. This novel tells the story of the people of Clydebank during the Blitz 4/5.

Sears and Roebuck are a Klave pair, members of a binary alien race where everything is encountered in pairs. According to Fly, all Klave appear to be a cross between Alley Oop and Magilla Gorilla.

Sears and Roebuck are assigned by the Hyperrealist aliens to help Fly and Arlene in the third and fourth novels.
